How do I make money?
WatchA3 is all about empowering makers and sharers of video by giving them easy tools for distribution and sharing any revenue with them. All payments, the way in which revenue is assessed and when you get paid are determined by Revver. Revver is the platform that hosts the video content you have uploaded to WatchA3.
How it works!
When you upload your video to WatchA3, we attach an advertisement and unique tracking technology to it. Whenever anyone clicks on that ad, you get paid. We host your video for free, give you the tools to share it and split the ad revenue with you 50/50. It's that simple. You can keep track of how much money you're making every step of the way. Just go to your accounts page. Here you can check which of your videos is performing the best and track their progress over time.
You can also make money by sharing WatchA3 videos. We've built lots of tools to help you share your videos across the Internet. As a WatchA3 member, you make 20 percent of the ad revenue from each video you share. The remaining money gets split 50/50 between the video artist and WatchA3.
How much money can I make?
The exact amount of money you earn per click is variable. We are constantly working to improve the value of our network so we can negotiate better rates. So keep uploading and sharing, it's good for everyone!
How and when do I get paid?
Pending earnings must complete a 30-day verification period. The cut-off date for each pay period is the last day of each month. Payments will be made by the 15th of each month to all accounts that had verified balances of US$20 or more on the payment cut-off date.
We make payments monthly, at the start of every month. Balances of over US$20 will be paid out after a 30-day verification period.
We know it sounds complicated. Let's say it's the beginning of October, the start of a new pay period. You have accrued US$35. That balance is put on hold for verification until the following payout day. Assuming your earnings are verified (no suspicious click activity, etc.), you will receive payment for US$35 on the next payout day, sometime around November 1. This 30-day verification period gives us a chance to ensure the validity of all clicks and earnings across the network. We must do this to protect our advertisers and ensure we can negotiate the best rates for our advertising. That way, we all make more money. On your Accounting Reports Page, "Total Earnings to Date" displays your current total verified earnings (does not include pending) over all time.
"Verified Earnings" is the income you will be paid on the next payout day (if over US$20). Your "Pending Balance" is the revenue that has not yet been verified. If you have questions about payments, contact the Revver team at payments@revver.com
Are my earnings taxable? Do I have to fill out any forms for tax purposes?
Whether or not your earnings are taxable or give rise to filing obligations will depend on your individual circumstances, including, amongst others, your tax residency and any other income you have. We recommend you seek advice in this regard.
Non-US citizens/residents and non-US entities should consult their tax advisor to determine if they are subject to US taxation. We also require non-US payees to complete Form W8-BEN, Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding (provided they are the beneficial owner of the income received). US citizens/residents and US corporations should be subject to appropriate US federal and state income taxation on worldwide income. (Any other US entities should consult their tax advisor to determine US taxation consequences.) We require US payees to complete From W-9, Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification.
WatchA3 will send the appropriate form to your e-mail address and you will need to fill it out and return it to WatchA3. Directions for returning the completed form will be included in the message. Once we've received the form, we will send you a confirmation message. If required, you will receive a Form 1099 reporting earnings from WatchA3 at the end of the calendar year.
How is the number of video views calculated?
The number of views for each video is the number of times the video has been watched through to completion, i.e. all the way to the end. It does not include how many times a video has been started and not watched entirely. These numbers are typically updated on the site every 10 minutes. Depending on traffic, there may be a delay in the display of video statistics. Rest assured, these stats are still being tracked and you will not lose credit for any views or, more importantly, any money from click-throughs.
What are fraudulent clicks?
Fraudulent clicks are clicks on advertising with the intention to make money rather than to interact with the ad. For example, if you were to sit and click on your own video 50 times in a row, this would be considered "click fraud". Per our member agreement, any account can be suspended at any time if fraudulent activity is suspected. Advertisers must be able to trust the WatchA3 system, in that each click they receive is from a real person interested in their service or product. Therefore, we have implemented sophisticated technologies to detect suspicious activity. If in WatchA3 or Revver's reasonable business judgment your account is suspected of so-called "click fraud", "impression fraud", usage of "bots" or other fraudulent means exploited to increase impressions, WatchA3 or Revver may suspend or otherwise disable your account until such time as the matter is resolved to WatchA3 or Revver's satisfaction If you have any questions about activity on the system or your account, contact the Revver team at support@revver.com
Can I click on the ads on my own videos to make money?
No. We've developed algorithms that can detect such behavior and doing this risks account suspension and possibly even legal action.
Can I encourage people to click on my ads so I can make money?
No. WatchA3 advertisers pay based on clicks on their advertisements on the assumption that people who click on their ads are interested in their products or services. If users are encouraged to click on ads irrespective of whether the product or service is of interest to them, these clicks are of much lower value to advertisers. This will eventually mean less money for video makers, as WatchA3 will no longer be able to negotiate a reasonable cost per click with advertisers. Consequently, this policy protects both advertisers and our makers and sharers.
